Themes were “fireborn elf/fairy”… OR “space station” but I don’t like space or stations so…

Using color palettes taken from other inspiring concept art and movie stills, we had to apply them to our landscapes and make ’em work. Some are alright, some are more experimental than anything… A lot of fun. Good exercise, methinks.

The written notes are the layer blending options I had the color layer on. If you don’t want to sacrifice hue saturation in your colors, use the “Color” blend setting… Unfortunately, you won’t have as much contrast as, say, when you use the “Overlay” setting which really brings out the lighting and mood of the jungle scene.

Because charcoal is best coal.

Twenty minute oil paintings. I’m still trash at painting.

Charcoal face studies. Quick sketches of my father and my cousin’s daughter. Didn’t have an eraser available to me at the time. Oh, well. :O
